Seaplane Instruction Information
The Single Engine Seaplane (SES) course is composed of 2 hours of ground school, 5 hours of dual instruction in a fully equipped BCS12D-4-85 (85hp) Taylorcraft on EDO 1320 floats, and use of the aircraft for the check ride (does not include examiner's fee). All study materials and handouts are included in the course price. Should more than 5 hours of dual instruction be required, an additional charge of $120/hr dual is assessed; however, additional dual beyond 5 hours is seldom required. Our experienced instructors are highly motivated in providing each and every student the very best in floatplane instruction in a personalized and relaxing environment. All training is located on the beautiful tidal waters and in the historical Maryland and Virginia surroundings of the lower Potomac River at its convergence with the Chesapeake Bay.
Please allow 3 days to complete the course and check ride. Commuting for the three days may be feasible or nearby lodging can be arranged (approx. $60-70/night) if desired. Should lodging be desired, we can assist in making your arrangements. Please allow sufficient reservation lead-time. Many excellent and widely publicized seafood restaurants are in the immediate area for your dining pleasure. Should free time allow, many historical and other points of interest await your visit.
